We hired Shima as our day-of coordinator because I wanted to enjoy my day and not have to worry about all the little things that could go wrong. Shima stepped up to the challenge and was a delight to work with! Before the wedding, she answered any of my questions quickly and was always ready and willing to help with any other details I needed help with. Shima was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish! When we decided to hire a Day Of Coordinator we really had no idea how we were going to pull off our big day. On our first meeting with Shima we both walked away thrilled that we found someone who had such great confidence, ability and knowledge. Shima Palma was a pleasure to work with and did a wonderful job coordinating our wedding day. During our pre-wedding meetings she was very attentive and organized. Our wedding was in July and we had just bought a house and we both worked very hectic hours. Even though most of the planning had already been done we needed that extra help on the day of our wedding and we were so lucky to find that help in Shima. Shima was AMAZING. She coordinated our wedding day perfectly making sure that everything went smoothly and that if anything did go wrong it went unnoticed. I do not know what I would have done without her. We’re a south asian couple who was looking for someone who could deal with all the complexities of our traditions, plus the stress of coordinating a two-day event. Shima was very organized in our initial meeting having a checklist of questions to better get to know our vision of our wedding day. Being a couple who was highly involved in our wedding planning and are very detailed-oriented by nature, it was very reassuring to know we had someone who could handle any last-minute glitches. She was great about easing our concerns and consistently reminding us that we should be focusing on enjoying the day and not worrying about the rest!

I thought you did a great job with our wedding. You were very willing to help and give advice/suggestions during the planning process, which was awesome considering we hired you primarily to be our day-of coordinator. I thought you were very flexible with your schedule and willing to accommodate our schedule for meetings especially since we were coming in from the U.S. You were very professional and easy to work with during our meetings. I also thought you did a great job with the rehearsal and getting everything ready for the ceremony and reception, as well as getting the bridal party in place and ready to go on time. The reception site looked great, especially the centerpieces. And my mom thought you were very thoughtful, such as taking our purses for us before we were introduced at the reception. Shima Palma helped us with our art gallery wedding this spring-she's the best! It was such a stress relief to have someone at the venue making sure all things got done as WE wanted. My husband and I were through thrilled with her work. We didn't receive any calls the entire day- as Shima handled it all. Meeting up with her prior to the day was also helpful as she brought up many points we had never even thought of.
She kept us organized and on time, and was able to troubleshoot all issues.
I would definitely recommend Shima as a wedding day coordinator or for any type of event you are throwing.

Your planning ability was reflected in your schedule of events for the function to ensure the food was served in a timely manner from the moment the guests arrived.
You treated our staff with great respect in asking them to make adjustments to seating arrangements as well as ensuring the special meal requests were delivered to the correct guests.

Shima was our "Day of Coordinator". She was in charge of: making sure the rentals &cutlery, crockery and tables) arrived at the reception venue and were set up correctly, meeting the caterer/server and making sure the buffet was set up properly (she also very kindly offered to pick supplies up at Costco for us), that favours were set out and displayed, that the bar was properly set up and stocked, ensuring everyone was at the wedding venue at the right time, also that my then-fiance and I didn’t accidentally run into each other (we both lived in the same building). She also coordinated the restocking of the buffet, and made sure the DJ was in place and ready to go. As the bartenders and the DJ were friends, the situation called for quite a bit of diplomacy. She was at both the wedding and the reception venues well ahead of time, and helped to coordinate transport for the various guests to and from each venue (a bit of a nightmare as most of our guests were from out of town and we had multiple cars whizzing back and forth).
We loved her! She did a very good job of calming me down and asking questions we hadn’t thought to ask, preparing us really well for our day. She is upbeat and very energetic, and definitely knows what she’s doing. She took such good care of us that we referred friends of ours. She was definitely worth the investment, and we were delighted with her service.
